Job Summary:
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager will be responsible for overseeing the M&E framework of the Africa Training Institute's programs and projects. This role includes developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive M&E systems, conducting regular evaluations, analyzing data, and providing actionable insights to improve program effectiveness and impact. The M&E Manager will work closely with program managers, stakeholders, and partners to ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities align with organizational goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • M&E Framework Development:
    • Design and implement robust M&E frameworks for various training programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
    • Develop appropriate indicators and data collection methodologies to assess program performance and impact.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Lead the collection of qualitative and quantitative data through surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
    • Analyze data to assess program outcomes and impacts, and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations on M&E findings for stakeholders and senior management.
  • Capacity Building:
    • Provide technical assistance and training to program staff on M&E processes and tools.
    • Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the organization by promoting the use of M&E findings in decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance M&E practices and share best practices.
    • Engage with donors, partners, and beneficiaries to communicate M&E findings and gather feedback for program improvement.
  • Reporting and Compliance:
    • Ensure timely reporting to donors and stakeholders in compliance with M&E requirements.
    • Maintain accurate and organized records of M&E activities and documentation.
  • Research and Innovation:
    • Contribute to the development of research-based evidence to support program design and implementation.
    • Explore and integrate innovative M&E tools and technologies to enhance data collection and analysis processes.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the non-profit or education sector.
  • Proven experience in developing M&E frameworks, indicators, and data collection methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficient in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, NVivo) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of training and capacity-building methodologies is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with donor requirements and reporting processes (e.g., USAID, DFID, EU) is preferred.
