Mechanics Quality Controller

Job Description :

1. Completing inspections of mechanical parts and booking into inventory, ahead of production.
2. Completing timely inspection of sub-assemblies during manufacturing to ensure a smooth production flow.
3. Ensuring that all goods and sub-assemblies are sent to customers / external parties according to documented specifications and in pristine condition.
4. Ensuring defects identified are documented and addressed with the respective subcontractors.
5. Enforcing conformance to procedures and quality standards across the production facility.
6. Performing calibration and verification audits of tools and equipment monthly.
7. Performing any other assigned duties related to quality assurance in the production facility.

Qualifications :

Grade 12 qualification or equivalent, with a Higher Certificate (NQF 5) in a mechanical-related field. The ideal candidate for the role will have 2-5 years quality control experience within a manufacturing environment, focused on mechanics. Exposure to electronics will be an advantage.

Specific experience that supports the effective execution of this role :

1. 2 or more proven years' experience in mechanical inspections within a manufacturing environment.
2. 5 or more years working with computers, specifically the MS Office Suite.
3. 3 or more years' experience with reading technical drawings.
4. 2 or more years' experience working in a formal Quality Management System (ISO- certified company preferred).
5. 2 or more years working in an engineering support role.
