Minimum Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Min of 2-3 years post-qualification experience in the automotive industry (lifts, body handling equipment, conveyors etc.) essential.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations.
• Ability to read and fully understand engineering plans and details.
• Excellent technical understanding of engineering principles.
• Working knowledge of ISO Standards.

Responsibilities:

• Compiling a bill of quantities of labour requirements.
• Utilising technical knowledge of mechanical work to conduct a variety of cost estimating activities.
• Reviewing client specifications and informing the Engineering Manager of any exceptional requirements that could significantly impact the project cost estimate.
• Attending project meetings with the project team to brief them on the costing methodology.
• Handling the costing of variation orders.
• Planning materials required for large-scale projects.
• Compiling detailed manufacturing drawings for production purposes.
• Conducting site measurement valuations and managing all relevant documentation.
• Collaborating with the Contracts Manager on-site for design purposes.
• Ensuring design drawings are current and up to date with the project installation.
• Compiling project documentation, including weld maps, datasheets, drawing updates, BOMS, and spare parts lists.
