Job description

CTTH is an independent international high school, registered with the WCED, situated in Gardens, Cape Town. We require an experienced teacher to join our dynamic team in January 2025 who is fully qualified to teach in a South African high school and is registered with SACE.

Aim of the school

Our school is cutting edge in that we prescribe to a personalised, self-directed educational philosophy. We keep our classes small and personalise each student’s educational road-map. We encourage our students to be self-motivated, self-starters who ask, explore and understand, and we believe that this approach to education ensures our students learn at their own pace, are positioned at their ability level, and in so doing ensure that they do not fall behind due to conceptual/knowledge gaps but rather achieve their own personal best across all subjects.

As part of a small team of teachers, the successful candidate will need to fulfil the role of teacher/mentor to students, teaching primarily through one-on-one interaction in their field of expertise, as well as in other subject areas as needed to support the school’s timetable. Due to the nature of independent learning, the successful candidate needs to be competent in the administration and management of the students’ projected schedule and progress, keeping them accountable to an acceptable pace and level of achievement. Furthermore, we look for a teacher who brings excitement and a love of learning to the classroom, as well as leadership, with teaching that supports our philosophy.
