The Institute has a vacancy for a Marketing Consultant at our Salt River Campus in Cape Town.
Job Purpose:
The Marketing Consultant is responsible for engaging with prospective students and their families through outbound calls to promote NewBridge Graduate Institute’s qualifications, programmes, and opportunities as well as to support the student recruitment team with database capturing, lead collection and management. This role plays a vital part in generating leads, scheduling appointments, capturing data and supporting the student recruitment process to meet campus enrolment targets. The Marketing Consultant will represent NGI’s brand with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a student-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Outbound Calling:
- Conduct daily phone calls to prospective students, parents, or guardians from provided lead lists or school databases to book interviews on the campus.
- Deliver clear, engaging, and accurate information about NGI’s programs, campus life, and application process.
- Follow up with leads to maintain interest and encourage progression through the recruitment funnel (leads to appointments to applications to registration), handing over interested leads to the Student Advisors.
Lead Organization, Generation and Data Collection:
- Identify and qualify potential students by asking relevant questions to assess interest and eligibility.
- Assist the Senior Marketing Consultant in categorising and segmenting leads based on relevant criteria (e.g., location, programme preferences, recruitment stage) to enable precise targeting for marketing and sales campaigns.
- Update and maintain accurate records of interactions in the institute’s CRM and dashboard system.
- Contribute to expanding the campus database by collecting contact details from targeted schools or events (under supervision).
- Attend Career Fairs/Expos & Presentations to support the Student Advisor team.
Database Capturing:
- Capture leads generated from school engagements such as presentations and career fairs and web enquiries onto the campus CRM system and Dashboard report.
- Assist the Senior Marketing Consultant with ad-hoc administration.
Appointment Scheduling:
- Secure appointments for prospective students to meet with Student Advisors or attend campus open/registration days.
- Coordinate with the sales team to ensure seamless handovers of qualified leads.
Brand Representation:
- Act as a friendly and professional consultant for NGI, reflecting the institute’s values of empowerment, education, and support.
- Address basic inquiries about programs, fees, bursaries, and entry requirements, referring complex queries to the appropriate team member.
- Conduct interviews with students and parents at certain events in the year such as Open Days and Registration Days in a support capacity.
Target Achievement:
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly call targets as set by the Vice Principal: Student Affairs and Senior Student Advisor.
- Contribute to team goals for applications and registrations by driving initial engagement with prospects.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Student Recruitment team to align efforts with campus sales plans.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge and calling techniques.
Skills and Competencies:
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills with a clear, confident, and friendly telephone manner.
- Persuasion: Ability to engage and motivate prospective students, overcoming objections with tact and enthusiasm.
- Organization: Strong time management and record-keeping skills to handle high call volumes and maintain accurate data.
- Resilience: Comfortable with rejection and able to maintain a positive attitude in a target-driven environment.
- Teamwork: Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support team objectives.
- Tech-Savvy: Basic proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office, and phone systems (training provided if needed).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate (Matric); a tertiary qualification (e.g., certificate or diploma) is advantageous but not required.
- Experience: Previous experience in telesales, customer service, or a call center environment is preferred but not essential—on-the-job training will be provided.
- Language: Fluency in English; proficiency in additional South African languages (e.g., Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa) is a plus but not mandatory.
Requirements:
- Driver’s License: Ideal but not required.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including peak student recruitment periods (e.g., Evenings or Saturdays during open days).
Working Conditions:
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30 (standard); extended hours may apply during peak registration periods.
- Two Saturday Mornings Per Month from 08:00 – 12:00.
