Leading South African footwear and apparel retailer has an exciting MARKETING ASSISTANT JOB available in Houghton Estate, Joburg. The Marketing Assistant responsibilities include administrative tasks, creative tasks such as writing marketing copy, managing social media accounts (including creating images and videos), and coordinating campaigns.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

1. Assist in managing social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
2. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop social media content strategies aligned with the brands’ marketing objectives and industry trends.
3. Create and schedule engaging social media posts using relevant text, images, videos, and other multimedia assets.
4. Monitor and analyse social media metrics and provide regular reports on performance.
5. Assist in managing and planning all Social Media Advertising.
6. Conduct market research to identify target audiences, demographics, and consumer behaviour.
7. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling ad copy, visuals, and calls-to-action.
8. Monitor ad performance, optimize campaigns based on key metrics, and suggest improvements.
9. Assist in planning and coordinating marketing events and activations, such as product launches, pop-up stores, and collaborations.
10. Coordinate logistics, including supplier selection, vendor coordination, and on-site setup.
11. Support event promotion through social media, email marketing, and other channels.
12. Assist in post-event evaluation, including gathering feedback and measuring the success of marketing events.
13. Collaborate closely with the marketing team and other departments to ensure consistent brand messaging and alignment of marketing efforts.
14. Assist in managing affiliated relationships with external agencies, influencers, vendors, and partners.
15. Communicate marketing initiatives, updates, and timelines to internal stakeholders.
16. Support cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed.
17. Provide general administrative support to the marketing department.
18. Help maintain marketing databases and contact lists.
19. Assist in preparing marketing reports, presentations, and other documents.

Marketing Assistant Qualifications/Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in marketing, social media management, or a related role.
3. Experience in the retail or fashion industry is a plus.
4. Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
5. Basic knowledge of digital advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads).
6. Familiarity with event planning and coordination.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva).
8. Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create engaging and compelling content.
9. Ability to develop creative social media strategies and campaigns.
10. Analytical skills to analyse social media metrics and digital advertising performance data.
11. Strong research skills to identify target audiences and market trends.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
14. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
15. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently when necessary.
16. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
17. Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends during special events or campaigns.
