Job description

Our client is seeking a Managing Director to join their team in Cape Town, working remotely.

The Managing Director (MD) will be responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic direction, operations, and overall growth. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a strong background in construction management, business development, and a passion for the sport. The MD will work closely with the Board of Directors and key stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects, expansion of the company’s market presence, and the achievement of financial objectives.


Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  2. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the construction or related industry.
  3. Proven track record in business development and managing large-scale construction projects.
  4. Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L responsibilities.
  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Passion for Padel or experience in the sports industry is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the company’s strategic goals, ensuring alignment with the broader vision and mission of Padel Build.
  2. Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  3. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, joint ventures, and market expansion initiatives.
  4. Financial Oversight: Manage the company’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Drive profitability and growth while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  5. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the executive team and broader workforce. Foster a positive, results-driven company culture.
  6. Client and Stakeholder Relations: Maintain and build relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Act as the face of the company in all external engagements.
  7. Innovation and Growth: Identify and capitalize on industry trends, technological advancements, and market opportunities to keep Padel Build at the forefront of the industry.
