Job-related Requirements:

1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Logistics or Courier environment, with a minimum of 3 years in a nightshift managerial role
2. Financial, Operational, HR and IR Skills are essential
3. Excellent admin skills
4. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff
5. Comprehensive knowledge of the LRA and BCEA
6. Must have a valid, unendorsed Code 08 drivers license
7. Must have own reliable transport
8. Be able to work overtime / shifts should it be needed
9. Flexible to travel
10. Able to attend client meetings

Electives:

1. Experience in Quality improvement initiatives/methodologies (Such as Six Sigma, Lean)
2. Deadline Driven and ability to work under pressure
3. Ability to analyse data and report on KPI’s
4. Good communication skills

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To manage the staff, clients and deliverables of the branch ensuring that it is aligned with the overall objectives of the organization and the resources are fully utilized to ensure optimal delivery of services to our clients.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To manage the delivery of the organization's objectives through communication, measurement and motivation of the staff
2. To manage cost and productivity within the branch ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency thereof
3. To ensure compliance to internal and external controls and other KPI’s set at global and local level
4. To deliver on the bottom line budget commitment to ensure that the business unit budget is met
5. To identify opportunities and risks within the business that may impact the business environment and ability to deliver to shareholder commitments
6. Managing people’s performance and growth to create a sustainable business environment
7. Identify and action training needs within the Operation
8. Adherence to deadlines and schedules
9. Managing and controlling resources and risk management
10. Administrative duties relevant to the position
11. Interacting with customers at all levels – in person and telephonically
12. Attend regular customer meetings
13. Maintain existing systems processes and controls with continuous improvement
14. Improving KPI Metrics within the business
15. Active managing of the operation ensuring housekeeping is in order and all Audit points are adhered to and met
