Maintenance Technician - Ottery, Cape Town

Our client based in Ottery, Cape Town is looking to hire a Maintenance Technician.

Requirements:

1. Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience.
2. Sound fault-finding skills.
3. PLC, Motors, and pneumatics experience would be to your advantage.
4. CAD Design (Solidworks experience will be advantageous).
5. Demonstrated technical ability.
6. Accountable.

11. Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
12. Good eye-hand coordination / technical orientation.
13. Willing to work shifts and overtime.

Responsibilities:

1. Respond to asset breakdowns and technical issues.
2. Conduct technical and electrical fault finding and schedule maintenance in line with asset plans.
3. Optimise machine efficiency (capability, downtime, and waste) and ensure machine availability by executing effective planned preventative maintenance, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and technical improvements.
4. Assist with the development of effective maintenance plans.
5. Provide technical assistance to other business functions (Production, Engineering, CI, etc.) in line with shift structure as set out by the Maintenance Leader.
6. Execute Job Cards according to the Maintenance System.
7. Maintain critical spares.
8. Conduct changeovers and assist with machine modifications where indicated.
