Maintenance Plumber

Established plumbing company that is well known in the construction industry, based in Hout Bay, is in need of a Trade Tested Plumber with a minimum of 4 – 5 years’ experience within the construction / maintenance industries.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

1. Conduct on-site inspections of plumbing systems and equipment damaged by insured events
2. Assess damage, take photos, and gather data for reporting purposes
3. Provide detailed reports, estimates, and recommendations for repairs or replacements
4. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company protocols
5. Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures (such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters) in commercial and residential structures
6. Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other professionals during construction
7. Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems, identifying and diagnosing plumbing problems using appropriate tools and techniques
8. Complete light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling, and electrical work as required
9. Prepare client bids, budgets, and cost estimates
10. Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used
11. Adhere to all plumbing building codes and regulations
12. Ensure all work meets safety standards and follows best practices
13. Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other industry professionals
14. Stay up-to-date with industry developments, new technologies, and changing regulations

Education:

1. Grade 12 and must have completed and passed the relevant plumber trade test as specified in the Manpower training act section 28 or 13
2. Red Seal & Leak Detection
3. 4 – 5 years of experience as a Plumber
4. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
5. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for on-site inspections)
6. The ideal candidate should reside in Hout Bay or close surroundings
