Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner with a background in bulks explosives manufacturing plants and related equipment to join their team in Gauteng, with a key focus on the development and implementation of maintenance plans and strategies to ensure optimal operation of equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities:

1. Developing and implementing detailed maintenance plans and strategies to ensure optimal and reliable equipment and facilities operations.
2. Analysing data to identify opportunities to minimize downtime and operational interruptions.
3. Developing and managing comprehensive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal asset performance and lifespan.
4. Cost control for materials and resources in equipment maintenance.
5. Ensuring preventative and corrective maintenance is carried out effectively and in accordance with procedures.
6. Carring out risk assessments and mitigation for potential equipment failures or disruptions.
7. Monitoring and reporting on maintenance KPI’s.
8. Providing technical support and training to maintenance team members.
9. Staying abreast of industry best practices and technology development.
10. Ensuring spare parts, supplies and resources are available to carry out required maintenance work.
11. Management and optimization of spare parts inventory including ordering of new parts and minimizing excess stock.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

1. Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma.
2. Matric certificate.
3. GCC (Government Certificate of Competency) advantageous.
4. 7 years’ experience in maintenance planning and asset management within the mining services sector.
5. Strong CMMS experience.
6. Advanced computer literacy.
7. Effective analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
8. Ability to multitask and prioritise.
9. Experience with multi-cultural, diverse teams.
10. Currently located in and around Gauteng.
