Maintenance Manager - Luxury Lodge - Kruger National Park

Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a Maintenance Manager for a luxury lodge based in the Kruger National Park. The Maintenance Manager is based in the maintenance department and manages all maintenance functions of the property.

Requirements:

1. Matric
2. At least 2 years of working experience in a managerial/assistant role
3. Extensive operational knowledge in the fields of: Water Reticulation, Boreholes, Sewage Systems, Wetlands and Reed beds.
4. Extensive operational knowledge of Generator Electrical Systems.
5. Knowledge of NOSA safety standards, rules and regulations.
6. Basic first aid knowledge
7. Driver’s license – minimum of Code 8
8. General computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel etc)
9. Preferably formal education in the areas of air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry, electrics
10. Knowledge of gas facilities e.g. gas geysers, gas stoves, multi braai’s, etc

Responsibilities:

1. Management of the maintenance department to the highest standard of excellence at the Lodges and Staff Villages
2. Control budget and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure the departmental budget is adhered to and all payments made timeously
3. Correct use and maintenance of equipment to ensure the highest level of productivity and safety
4. Effective communication with the general manager and lodge management in terms of all maintenance issues
5. Ensuring that the maintenance staff delivers the highest level of service to guests by overseeing the carrying out of their assigned duties effectively and efficiently
6. Negotiate with suppliers and maintain supplier relationships
7. Must be able to fault find
8. Good command of the English language – verbal & written
9. Good Management skills
10. Must be able to deal with practical problems and installations
11. Attention to detail
12. Should be willing to work flexible hours and fit into a standby roster
13. Withstand both physical and mental pressure, must have mental and physical stamina
