We are seeking a resilient and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage maintenance operations in a challenging marine shipping environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems, processes, and operational management, preferably with consulting experience. This role requires a leader capable of maintaining equipment, ensuring safety, and optimizing performance under demanding conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Operations Management
Oversee all maintenance activities, ensuring the operational readiness and safety of all marine vessels and equipment.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures, and standards to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and minimal disruption due to maintenance activities.
Manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting, procurement, and cost control.
Systems and Processes
Evaluate, design, and implement robust maintenance systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Utilize consulting experience to recommend and integrate best practices in maintenance management.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in maintenance technologies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager in a marine or similarly challenging environment or in the mining or oil and gas industry is an added advantage.
Strong background in systems, processes, and operational management.
Consulting experience in maintenance management or a related field preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
This role involves working in a marine environment, requiring resilience and adaptability.
Proficient in written and spoken English.
You must be willing to relocate and work in Papua New Guinea.
