POSITION INFO :
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the Workshop Staff and the smooth operation of the workshop with adherence to Health and Safety compliance regulations, ensuring that all required vehicle checks are completed and actioned. All vehicles in the fleet are to be checked for overall condition and adherence to health and safety requirements, legislative transport requirements, individual contract requirements and maintained in a condition consistent with the company brand. Keeping adequate supervision of jobs and quality checks during and through to completion.
Requirements :
- 3 years relevant working experience
- Matric with relevant qualification such as diesel mechanic, logistics management or business management
- Ability to analyse data and present to management
- Technical knowledge of diesel mechanics and commercial vehicles
- Understanding of legislation relevant to industrial relations aligned with the industry
- Driver's license code EC
- Ability to work in Northern Suburbs of Cape Town
Duties :
- Fully in charge of the workshop at times
- Manage timeframes of job - support workshop staff in completing assignments and developing skills
- Sign off Job Cards as complete and complete an initial quality check before work is released to Operations department for use
- Job Cards management and capturing
- Identify training and upskilling of staff
- Management of equipment such as non-electric, electric and air-powered tools, torches, grinders and presses, and oversee the maintenance of the equipment by workers. This includes inspection, calibration and recertification
- Equipment maintenance
- Management of outside repair service if and when needed
- New equipment management
- All administration related to position
- Order materials to complete a work order
- Assist with the completion of work orders
- Review job and project specs
- Assist in resolving issues that arise quickly to get work moving and meet deadlines
- Once a work order is completed, discuss work with management to meet all deadlines
- Match employees with specific tasks based on their skills or expertise, create and post work schedules and update staff about schedule changes and deadlines.
Your sound technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and other systems related to commercial vehicles will be to your advantage.
