Maintenance Fitter and Turner

MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

1. Qualified Fitter
2. Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience
3. Experience in a maintenance environment
4. Experience in steel fabrication and sketch up own design
5. Arc welding experience
6. Own transport required
7. Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
8. Attentive to detail
9. Results-driven and has initiative
10. Reliable
11. Good problem-solving skills
12. Accountable
13. Hydraulic experienced (Read and interpret drawings)
14. Injection moulding experience advantageous

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Carry out maintenance functions to ensure that the machines & factory remain well looked after
2. Where necessary live documents are to be kept at certain machines
3. Maintenance checks on chillers, cooling towers & compressor
4. Repairs and maintenance alterations when required or requested
5. General upkeep of the grounds & structure
6. Carry out all items timeously
7. Carry out all other reasonable instructions to the best of your ability, bearing in mind that these are secondary to the mandatory scheduled maintenance items.
8. Welding and fabrication of new equipment and machinery
9. Documented weekly checklists to be filled in
10. Follow the health and safety procedures as stipulated by the company - ensure you and all you see are acting in a manner of compliance.
11. Comply with PPE requirements
12. Adhere to uniform requirements as stipulated by the company
13. Report any detected health and safety concerns immediately
14. Factory is permanently clean and tidy
15. Clear evidence of good housekeeping practices are to be visible upon entering the maintenance dept. With all like-type items to be stored in a traceable & organized manner.
16. Factory running efficiently and effectively as a result of a highly maintained factory
17. Continuously try to seek out methods to help preventative maintenance be a solution to root causes of breakdowns
18. Comply with all company policies and procedures
19. Maintain a good relationship with colleagues and management and an attitude of continuous improvement
20. Work in collaboration with other members of staff to allow for smooth planning of both your department requirements to fulfil its maintenance duties, which simultaneously allows for the production plan to continue as undisturbed as possible.
