Required for an automotive company based in East London.
Purpose:
Plan and carry out daily Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance to all plant machinery.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
N4 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering – Trade Tested or similar.
Qualified Millwright (added advantage).
Experience:
5 years' experience in a factory maintenance environment.
Experience on Injection Molding Machines (Engel) (added advantage).
Skills:
Computer literacy is a must.
Ability to learn quickly and be independent.
Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Experience:
Experience in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (preferred).
Responsibilities:
Preventative Maintenance: Ensure preventative maintenance is carried out according to schedules for both Mechanical and Electrical systems.
Stock Management: Frequently check stock levels for all spares/materials and place orders in time.
Trend Analysis & Recommendations: Assist the Maintenance Manager in periodic trend analysis of breakdowns and expenditures. Provide recommendations for continual improvement.
Daily Emergencies & Work Requests: Be involved in daily emergencies and urgent work requests.
5S System & Safety: Ensure adherence to the 5S System and safe working standards at all times.
Communication of Critical Situations: Keep the Maintenance Manager informed of abnormal or critical situations. Seek advice on matters outside the Planner's knowledge or authority.
Compliance with Standards: Ensure maintenance procedures and documentation comply with relevant Quality Assurance standards and Safety Standards.
Electrical Installations & PLCs: Handle electrical installations and PLC systems.
General Buildings & Utilities: Oversee general buildings and all utilities.
Compliance with OHS Act & Legislation: Comply with OHS Act regulations and other applicable legislation.
Involvement in New Projects: Be involved with all new projects and related activities.
Maintenance Schedules for Machinery: Accurately follow maintenance schedules for production machinery and services (Electrical and Mechanical).
Lubrication Schedules: Carry out lubrication schedules.
Safety Regulations: Perform all work safely according to safety regulations.
Breakdown Response: Quickly rectify breakdowns and respond to after-hours call-outs.
Shift & Standby Duties: Perform weekly shift and standby duty as per roster.
Company HSEE Policy: Adhere to the Company HSEE (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) policy.
Shift & Standby Call-Out Duties: Perform shift and standby call-out duties as required.
Overtime: Work overtime when required as agreed with the Plant Engineer.
