Maintenance and Infrastructure Manager

One of our clients within the mining industry is looking for a Maintenance and Infrastructure Manager to be based at Emalahleni, Mpumalanga.

Role Overview

The Maintenance and Infrastructure Manager is responsible for developing and executing a strategic approach to maintenance and infrastructure management across multiple sites and regions. This role ensures compliance with safety, regulatory, and engineering standards while optimizing maintenance operations, asset utilization, and cost efficiency.

The manager oversees infrastructure development, preventative maintenance programs, and resourcing plans, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to best engineering practices. Additionally, they manage budgets, risk mitigation, stakeholder relationships, and SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) compliance while leading a team to drive continuous improvement and high-performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement maintenance and infrastructure strategies to optimize efficiency across multiple sites.
2. Operations & Asset Management: Oversee maintenance delivery, preventative maintenance programs, and infrastructure development while ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
3. Regulatory & SHE Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) regulations and industry best practices.
4. Budget & Financial Control: Manage maintenance budgets, track expenditures, and optimize cost efficiency.
5. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to infrastructure, maintenance, and operational security.
6. Stakeholder & Service Provider Management: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and service providers to ensure seamless operations.
7. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop staff while managing resources to meet operational demands effectively.

Requirements

1. BEng / BSc in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
2. Post graduate qualification in Business Management.
3. 10 to 15 years in maintenance and infrastructure management.
4. 8 to 10 years in Mining maintenance and infrastructure management (specifically mobile equipment, electrical systems and equipment and fleet management).
5. Experience in a mining environment preferred.
