Company Description

The Logistics Controller – Statistics will be responsible for drawing various reports (related to the day to day management of the fleet) and to report on the analysis thereof. In addition to this, the Logistics Controller – Statistics will oversee loads allocated to subcontracts (start to end) to ensure that the process adheres to the Company and Client requirements.

Job Description

Management of Fleet Management System Statistics

Draw, analyse and interpret fleet management reports and report findings to Operations Manager, including but not limited to:

  1. driver debriefs (done, not done, outstanding);
  2. pre-trip inspections (done, not done, outstanding);
  3. load/order status on system (open, closed, missed, free);
  4. status of driver attendance, hours and kilometres sheets (up to date and completed);
  5. monitor load turnaround times;
  6. status of pod’s (received, outstanding).

Fleet Control/Management of Subcontractor Loads

Responsible for the management/control of subcontractor loads including:

  1. capture and update planned loads on the Fleet Management Systems;
  2. ensure subcontractor/driver received their loading instructions and are aware of what is expected of them as well as informing them of any changes;
  3. ensure that planned and scheduled loads are picked up and delivered on time as well as update stakeholders on progress and delays;
  4. ensure that all POD and related are received on time and according to client specifications;
  5. liaise with subcontractor and client on progress, changes and to resolve any issues.

Qualifications

  • Gr 12 or equivalent (required).
  • Qualification in Fleet Management and Logistics (advantage).
  • 2 to 4 years proven experience as a logistics/fleet controller:
    • must have managed a small fleet;
    • must have dealt with subcontractors/clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
  • Driver’s License with own reliable transport.
