COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Our client is South Africa’s largest paper merchant, offering an unrivalled range of paper and packaging products. They are looking for a Logistics and Warehouse Manager to join their team at the Cape Town branch as soon as possible.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage the costs of the warehouse by providing input into the budget and managing expenditure accordingly on a daily basis.
  2. Manage and assist with the receiving and dispatch of finished goods.
  3. Oversee the warehouse, inventory control, material handling, transportation, and planning thereof.
  4. Develop, implement, and improve operational procedures to ensure increased efficiencies and reduced costs.
  5. Drive and implement cost initiatives and strategic projects that will improve warehousing and distribution operations.
  6. Oversee the movement, distribution, and storage of materials.
  7. Take overall responsibility for the warehouse systems and processes, ensuring overall data integrity.
  8. Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all key management to support effective decision-making for the business.
  9. Manage relationships and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with third-party vendors and suppliers.
  10. Develop strategic plans and policies to improve warehousing operations.
  11. Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
  12. Introduce and manage warehouse management and financial management systems.
  13. Plan appropriate steps and action plans to achieve the Supply Chain’s strategic goals and objectives.
  14. Plan people, process, and system resources to manage the action plans and meet KPI targets.
  15. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety and maintain a safe workplace for all.
  16. Logistics management; review and process improvement, cost analysis, scheduling, and stakeholder relations.
  17. Ongoing management and maintenance of the vehicle fleet.
  18. Daily and monthly KPI reporting on productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
  19. Manage stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency.
  20. Identify and manage continuous improvement projects.
  21. Resolve any arising problems and escalate issues as required.
  22. Provide support in solving day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Grade 12.
  2. Relevant tertiary education related to Warehouse and/or Logistics and/or Supply Chain.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. 3 – 5 Years’ experience in a similar position.
  2. FMCG experience essential.
