JOB TITLE: PRODUCT INTRODUCTION FIELD ENGINEER – RICHARDSBAY

Alstom Rolling Stock South Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Product Introduction Field Engineer for our Traxx Africa project based in Richardsbay.
THE PURPOSE OF THE PRODUCT INTRODUCTION FIELD ENGINEER ROLE IS TO:
Provides field engineering leadership, assist and support to projects & PI team for investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of technical/quality issues.
THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:
THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
B.Ing / Bsc Engineer (Electrical / Electromechanical/ Mechanical). Minimum 5 years Rolling Stock (Locomotive / train) experience. Railway safety & RAMS experience will be advantageous. Environment, Health and Safety knowledge/exposure. Hands on Testing / Commissioning, fault finding & repair experience. Proficient in reading schematics and technical drawings. Data analytics. Experience in analytical fault reporting and report writing. Advance understanding of technical drawings and schematics.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:
Agile mindset. Inclusive mindset. Responsible mindset. Ability to see in color. Advanced computer literacy. Computer System Diagnostic skills. Reading of drawings and schematics. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Sound Mechanical and Electrical Fault-finding skills. Ability to work on both electrical and mechanical equipment. Solid Electrical / Mechanical background and understanding of engineering principles. Accurate and analytical fault reporting and report writing. Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Quality principles. Knowledge of maintenance engineering principles. Knowledge of maintenance principle. Willing to travel between sites/nationally if required. Maximo /GSI / SAP knowledge will be an advantage. Ability to see in colour. Willing to work shifts and standby as and when required (possible weekend work). Be able to do hands on repairs and use tools. Valid Driver’s License.
