Life Insurance Specialist

Based in Menlyn, a professional and independent financial services company is currently seeking a KEY INDIVIDUAL. This role involves managing and supervising a network of independent advisors, focusing on compliance and administrative responsibilities to support advisors in growing their practices.

The company serves nearly 100 advisors nationwide, providing them the freedom to concentrate on business growth by handling essential backend operations.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum NQF Level 5
• Minimum 3 years’ FSP management experience.
• Must be able to act as KI for a Cat 1 FSP.
• RE1, RE5 and Exams required.
• Class of Business (if not exempt)
• CPD required

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management and oversight of Financial Service:

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including fit and proper standards for advisors, training and monitoring of representatives, oversight of advice, managing contracts and agreements, and handling all complaints from regulatory bodies.

Management and oversight of FAIS compliance:

• Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust new business compliance programme, including risk controls, process monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring accurate record-keeping in line with FAIS legislation.

General Duties

• This role involves leading and managing the business by driving strategic growth, achieving sales targets across product categories, and identifying new business and cross-selling opportunities. It includes developing long-term relationships with stakeholders, overseeing client needs analysis, and acting as a liaison between clients, advisors, and insurance providers. Key responsibilities also include recruitment, training, and performance management of advisors, ensuring consistent people practices, and maintaining strong industry knowledge. The role further entails brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring operational capacity through strategic planning and resource alignment.

The salary package will be market related and in line with qualifications, skills and experience. (Bracket: R45k - R70k pm)
