Job description

Background:

Job vacancies:
STADIO is hiring for two lecturers and module coordinator roles within the School of Law and the School of Arts and Humanities for 2025:

  1. Lecturer and module coordinator in philosophy and/or African studies
    Position type: Permanent
    Reference: CENAHPN1
  2. Lecturer and module coordinator in political studies
    Position type: Fixed-term (15 January 2025 – 15 December 2025)
    Reference: CENAHCN1

Key roles and responsibilities:
Deliver lectures in the specified areas: Philosophy/African Studies (CENAHPN1) or Political Studies (CENAHCN1). Conduct assessments and moderation. Develop and manage study materials, coordinate modules, and handle academic administration. Lead research activities and mark assignments and exams. Utilise the Learning Management System (LMS) effectively.

Qualifications and experience:
For CENAHPN1: Master’s degree in Arts with a specialisation in Philosophy or a related field.
For CENAHCN1: Master’s degree in Arts with a focus in Political Studies or a related field. Proven higher education teaching experience and familiarity with LMS platforms like Canvas. Competency in research databases (e.g., EBSCOhost, myJuta). Strong communication, organisation, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Key attributes:
Ability to work both independently and in a team, with flexibility to work across different teaching modes. A willingness to work after hours and teach across various Arts and Humanities fields.
