POST: LECTURER: PND1-PND2

REMUNERATION: R553 545 – R726 717 (PND2) Per Annum - Basic Salary

OTHER BENEFITS: 13th Cheque, Medical Aid (Optional), Rural allowance, Housing Allowance – Employee must meet the prescribed requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Senior Certificate/Grade 12
  2. A Degree/Diploma in Nursing (General, Psychiatric, and Community) and Midwifery PLUS
  3. A Diploma/Degree in Nursing Education registered with SANC
  4. Current Registration (2024) with SANC
  5. A minimum of 4 (four) years appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing (for Grade 1 - PND1)
  6. OR a minimum of 14 (fourteen) years appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing, of which 10 (ten) years must be in Clinical Nursing and/or Nursing Education after obtaining the 1-year post qualification (for Grade 2 - PND2).
  7. Unendorsed valid RSA Drivers license (EB/C1)
  8. Basic computer course
  9. Verification for relevant experience – as per HRM Circular 94/2008

RECOMMENDATIONS:

  1. Experience in Clinical Nursing Practice.
  2. Masters’ Degree in Nursing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  1. Knowledge of relevant legislation, Acts, Prescripts, and policy frameworks.
  2. In-depth knowledge of procedures and processes related to nursing and nursing education.
  3. Sound knowledge and understanding of nursing code of ethics and professional practice.
  4. In-depth knowledge of teaching and clinical approaches.
  5. Good research and analytical skills.
  6. Competence in conflict management and problem-solving skills.
  7. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Willingness to travel.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  1. Coordinate, implement, and monitor an effective and efficient Clinical training system.
  2. Provide effective and efficient clinical teaching of nurse learners.
  3. Develop/design, review, and evaluate clinical evaluation tools.
  4. Co-ordinate clinical learning exposure of nurse learners between the Campus and clinical area.
  5. Support the mission and promote the image of the College/Campus.
  6. Implement assessment strategies to determine nurse learners’ competencies.
  7. Exercise control over nurse learners.
  8. Implement the quality management system for the Nursing Education Institution.
