Lecturer in Mathematics Education

Duties/Pligte

The incumbent will be responsible for:

1. Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in Mathematics Education, with both a primary and high school focus.
2. Engaging in research in Mathematics Education and related fields.
3. Publishing in reputable academic and peer-reviewed journals.
4. Supervising postgraduate students in Mathematics Education and related fields.
5. Participating in social impact projects in Mathematics Education and rendering appropriate services to the University and teaching community.
6. Contributing to the academic administration and leadership in the discipline and the Department.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

1. A strong background in Mathematics.
2. A relevant master's degree in Mathematics Education focusing on pedagogy and content knowledge.
3. A teaching qualification.
4. Evidence or potential to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
5. Evidence or potential to supervise postgraduate students at honours level in Mathematics Education and related fields.
6. Experience in teaching Mathematics Education at undergraduate levels.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

1. A PhD in Mathematics Education with a focus on pedagogy and content knowledge.
2. Experience and/or knowledge of technology-aided education.
3. Multilingual skills relevant to the South African context.
