We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Teacher to join our team in fostering an inclusive, supportive, and individualised learning experience for all students.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Teacher to work closely with our Montessori educators in providing tailored support for students with diverse learning needs. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that all children, regardless of their abilities or challenges, have the opportunity to thrive in a Montessori environment.

You will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to adapt lessons and activities to meet the needs of individual students, promoting inclusivity and helping children develop their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out training with teachers on age-appropriate interventions and referrals to the appropriate therapist
• Manage monthly MDT meetings with the school’s therapeutic team
• Collaborate with teachers to assess the learning needs of students and develop tailored support plans.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students requiring additional assistance.
• Adapt Montessori curriculum materials and activities to suit the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
• Offer guidance and support to teachers in differentiating their instruction to include all students.
• Monitor and track the progress of students, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure effective learning.
• Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment where all children feel valued and supported.
• Communicate regularly with parents to discuss their child’s progress and any specific needs.
• Promote independence and self-esteem in students while ensuring they have the necessary support to succeed.
• Stay current with best practices in learning support and inclusive education.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field (required).
• Experience working in a Montessori setting or with the Montessori philosophy is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in learning support, special education, or working with children with diverse learning needs.
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children, parents, and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children achieve their potential.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to meet deadlines, keep timing and assist where necessary as and when required.
