Evaluating quotations: Ensuring costs reflect scope & verifying contractor rates with industry established norms.
Verifying Invoices: Ensuring that we pay for actual work done when using cost re-measurable contracts
Working with procurement to select the best contracting strategy for each job to minimize cost and maximize productivity within the constraints of safety, environment, cost, duration, scope, quality, risks, and available resources
Working with Project, Senior & Plant engineers to ensure that the best contractors are selected
Safety, Risk, Environment & Community: Zero harm, respect the environment and the community by ensuring compliance to SHEQ systems, standards, and legislative requirements for annual Shuts
Relationship development: delivering the annual shutdown outcomes in a safe manner, on time, in cost budget and with agreed quality requirements by working cross-functionally between all the plants, and across all the engineering disciplines (i.e., Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument, Process)
Procurement and contract management
Your profile :
BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying or equivalent (i.e. B. Tech - Quantity Surveying)
Membership of recognised professional board in QS (e.g. SACQSP, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) will be advantageous
PMP (Project Management Professional) with PMI (Project Management Institute) or equivalent will be advantageous
At least 5 year’s of experience in Quantity Surveying & Project Management
Experience working with SAP, Microsoft Projects, Primavera P6 or other Project Management software advantageous
A minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience / team leadership experience is requirement
Coordination of skills outside the Jobs own skills area may be required
An understanding of the industry, products and services supplied is required
Manage & develop cost engineering team, leading to and during execution of shuts
Lead cost engineering team to developing cost estimates
Ensuring compliance to cost control procedures
Preparing & managing forward man loading of contractors for annual shut
Manage & implement monitoring tools for all cash-flows
Monitoring the greater environment to identify potential cost risks and submit recommendations to relevant stakeholders to action
Forecasting cost in alignment with schedule, considering vendor inputs, site instructions, claim forecasts, tariff increases and volume increases
Implementation and management of cost change management process
Assisting with preparation of Annual Shut Audits & cost reports per contractor
