Join Our Team as a Lead, Logistics Planning and Monitoring

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Lead, Logistics Planning and Monitoring to join our team and take ownership of the planning, coordination, and execution of all logistics operations. In this critical role, you will drive the effective execution of both domestic and export sales plans, ensuring optimized process flows and seamless logistics between clients, Transnet, road transport service providers, and internal business units.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans that streamline logistical processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency. Through collaboration across various departments, you will ensure the timely and smooth flow of goods and services within the supply chain. By tracking key performance indicators, such as on-time delivery, inventory levels, and transportation costs, you will measure success and continuously improve logistics operations.

As the leader of a talented team of logistics professionals, you will provide essential guidance, training, and support to help your team achieve objectives in a timely and effective manner. Your ability to identify deviations from plans and implement corrective actions will be key to maintaining smooth operations and driving continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Commerce: Logistics Mgt (Essential/Minimum or)
• B Eng (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum or)
• BCom Supply Chain Management (Essential/Minimum or)
• B Degree (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
• Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE:

8 years Experience regarding Stakeholder operations (e.g., Transnet and Road Transport); Logistics planning; Flow management and control; Supply chain or related. In-depth knowledge of logistics processes, regulations, and best practices. Proven track record of driving process improvements and cost savings initiatives. (Essential/Minimum) Management

REQUIREMENTS:

• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)

Duties & Responsibilities

• To collaborate widely internally to ensure the smooth flow of goods and services throughout the supply chain.
• To track key performance indicators related to on-time delivery, inventory levels, and transportation costs to assess the effectiveness of logistics operations.
• To identify deviations from plans and implement corrective actions as needed.
• To lead a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
