About the Company

As the country’s financial intelligence unit, the company implements its role in the country’s framework for anti-money laundering, countering the financing of terrorism and proliferation (AML, CFT and CPF). The company’s functions include:

  1. Receive regulatory reports and transaction and other data from accountable institutions and other businesses.
  2. Interpret and analyse the data received.
  3. Produce financial intelligence from this data for the use of competent authorities in their investigations, prosecutions and applications for asset forfeiture.
  4. Produce forensic evidence based on the flow of financial transactions.
  5. Exchange information with bodies that have similar objectives in other countries regarding combating of ML, TF and PF (money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing), and other similar activities.
  6. Facilitate effective supervision and enforcement by supervisory bodies.

About the Role

Provide labour relations advisory and facilitation services to internal stakeholders to enable sound employment relations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Advise managers and employees on Labour relations matters.
  2. Maintain organized Labour consultative structures.
  3. Facilitate internal dispute resolution measures, grievances, and disciplinary processes.
  4. Sustain relationships with key stakeholders i.e. shop stewards and other union representatives, to ensure employment relations stability through addressing identified issues speedily and in an amicable manner.
  5. Ensure constant monitoring of the Recognition Agreement and/or any other agreements that the FIC enters into with organized Labour.
  6. Provide support to the negotiations team by coordinating the bargaining process.
  7. Represent the FIC at relevant external forums such as the CCMA.
  8. Develop and implement measures to promote sound employment relations.
  9. Develop, implement, maintain and monitor Labour relations policies.
  10. Empower management and staff on Labour relations matters.
  11. Facilitate the FIC’s compliance with employment laws.
  12. Keep abreast of changes and developments in the Labour relations environment.
  13. Facilitate the implementation of the FIC’s Transformation initiatives, including, but not limited to, employment equity and other transformation-related deliverables.
  14. Review and maintain HR governance framework and ensure alignment to employment laws, e.g., HR policies etc.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in HR / Labour Relations or equivalent.
  2. +5 years’ experience in Labour relations field.
  3. +5 years’ experience in collective bargaining matters, and conflict resolution.
  4. Demonstrated facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of employment and Labour laws.
  6. Knowledge of and ability to interpret Human Resources Management framework with specific reference to Labour Relations.
  7. Knowledge and skills regarding processes of policy research, analysis and development.
  8. Knowledge and skills in strategic and project planning and management.
