CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
The Dietetics Department focuses on building and maintaining excellent academic standards in theoretical and practical application. The core purpose for the Laboratory Technician: Dietetics is to be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the food laboratory and stores, assist with the planning and execution of food practical work and orders for food practical work in all modules of the division, including functions.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: A BSc degree in Dietetics (four years).
Registration: Current registered as a Dietitian with the HPCSA.
Experience: Minimum of 12 months’ experience working as a dietitian, after community service. Working in food service and food production in a large industrial kitchen and/or educational kitchen environment (including experience in administrative duties) and/or working in a culinary institution will be an advantage.
Certificate / License: First Aid Certificate, Level 1 or Level 2. Valid driver’s license is required (a PDP will be an added advantage).
Work hours: Be able to work after hours and weekends during functions and practicals as required.
Competency-Based Assessment: Please note that candidates who are invited for an interview will be expected to undergo a competency-based assessment of skills. Candidates will be given sufficient time to prepare for this.
