Citra is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Facility Manager to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our R&D testing laboratory. The Facility Manager will be responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment for conducting a wide range of testing activities. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of laboratory operations and safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
Laboratory Operations & Maintenance:
Oversee the maintenance and calibration of all testing equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
Manage laboratory inventory, including chemicals, consumables, and equipment parts.
Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs of laboratory infrastructure and equipment.
Ensure the laboratory is clean, organized, and compliant with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.
Implement and maintain effective laboratory management systems.
Safety & Compliance:
Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures, including chemical handling, waste disposal, and emergency response.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards.
Manage and maintain safety data sheets (SDS) and other relevant documentation.
Maintain records pertaining to laboratory certifications and equipment calibration.
Facility Management:
Manage building utilities, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Coordinate with external vendors for facility maintenance and repairs.
Oversee security systems and access control.
Manage waste disposal and recycling programs.
Ensure the laboratory meets all accessibility standards.
Team Management & Coordination:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory support staff.
Provide training and guidance to staff on laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
Coordinate with the R&D team to ensure efficient scheduling and resource allocation.
Maintain positive professional relationships with all staff.
Budget & Procurement:
Develop and manage the laboratory's operating budget.
Procure laboratory equipment, supplies, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
Maintain accurate records of expenditures and inventory.
Negotiate contracts with vendors.
Qualifications & Skills:
Technical qualification in Engineering, Science, or related field.
A Bachelor's Degree will be considered favorably.
Proven experience (7+ years) in laboratory management or facility management, preferably in a testing environment.
Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Knowledge of equipment calibration and maintenance procedures.
Experience with budget management and procurement.
Knowledge of ISO 17025 is a strong asset.
Certifications in facility management or safety management is a benefit.
