Purpose of Position: To clean and maintain the laboratory and assist with the preparation of specimens in the laboratory.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field

Required Experience:

• Experience within a pathology environment
• Knowledge: Meditech system

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clean and maintain the laboratory to ensure a clean and safe work environment
2. Complete the necessary studying and tasks required to complete the learner lab assistants training
3. Maintain good client relations to promote the image of Ampath
4. Perform administration tasks to ensure effective administration systems in the laboratory
5. Perform general laboratory tasks to ensure the effective functioning of the laboratory
6. Prepare cytology specimens to ensure efficient processing of specimens in the laboratory
7. Receive cytology specimens to ensure effective and efficient specimen flow in the laboratory
