Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Kitchen Assistant, responsible for overseeing daily food preparation and duties in the Hot & Cold Sections. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and a dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily food preparation and duties in the Hot & Cold Sections.
  • Follow par levels set daily by the Senior Chef on duty.
  • Ensure adequacy of supplies and quality stock in the kitchen by estimating daily production needs.
  • Maintain the highest levels of food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all policies and standards pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage, and sanitation.
  • Operate and maintain all department equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
  • Maintain personal hygiene, safety, and correct use of equipment and utensils.
  • Consult daily with the Senior Chef about prep for functions or platters and plan accordingly.
  • Provide daily feedback and reporting of issues to the Head Chef and Supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu items, and presentation standards.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Positive outlook, outgoing personality, and a passion for cooking and food.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Immaculate personal appearance and adherence to uniform standards.
