Pernod Ricard South Africa is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Prestige Key Account Manager to join our team in Cape Town. This role is dedicated to managing a portfolio of high-profile on-trade customers while driving the growth of our Ultra-Premium product portfolio, which includes Champagne, Cognac, Whisky, and Tequila. The ideal candidate will have a passion for luxury, strong commercial acumen, and a proven ability to deliver exceptional results in a competitive market.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with on-trade accounts, Corporates, and High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs).
  • Develop and execute tailored strategies for key strategic accounts to maximize sales, brand penetration and rate of sale initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain current and new Customer Business Plans ensuring targets and commitments are achieved, driving the visibility and depletion of Pernod Ricard Products.

Achieving Goals and KPIs:

  • Meet and exceed defined goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with sales, market share, and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Track and report progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve targets.
  • Set SMART goals in the Cape Town Region to win in the marketplace and deploy the Pernod Ricard Strategy.

Sales and Commercial Planning:

  • Develop and implement commercial plans that align with company objectives and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment of sales strategies.
  • Manage and Identify B2C and B2B opportunities where luxury brands are sold and activated.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage projects related to product launches, events, and promotions.
  • Ensure timely delivery and effective coordination of resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Reporting and evaluation of all investment to inform the business performance.

Business Intelligence and Competitor Activity Monitoring:

  • Continuously analyse market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activities to inform strategies.
  • Provide actionable insights to maintain a competitive advantage and drive innovation in the annual brand planning process.

Negotiation Skills and Insights:

  • Demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills to secure favourable terms and outcomes with key partners.
  • Translate market and customer insights into creative commercial sales drivers that generate measurable impact.

Event and Activation Management:

  • Plan and execute high-end events that enhance brand visibility and create memorable consumer experiences.
  • Partner with marketing and activation teams to ensure alignment and optimal execution.
  • Management of agencies and key stakeholders to ensure executional excellence and compliant ROI.

Financial and Budget Management:

  • Oversee budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with business goals.
  • Monitor financial performance and make data-driven adjustments to optimize outcomes.
  • Budget Management and reporting through key reporting periods in the fiscal year.

Creativity in Sales Drivers:

  • Develop innovative approaches to drive sales and strengthen customer engagement.
  • Leverage creativity to overcome challenges and seize new business opportunities.
  • Create Rate of sale initiatives that stand out from our competitors and drive consumer excitement.
  • Leverage modern world platforms to drive awareness, talkability and set trends.

Key Competencies and Experience

  • At least 5 years of sales experience, with a proven track record in luxury goods or spirits/champagne industries.
  • Strong knowledge of the spirits, champagne, and broader luxury goods sectors.
  • Experience in commercial planning, project management, and delivering results against KPIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse market trends and competitor activities to develop actionable insights.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with a creative approach to commercial challenges.
  • Proficiency in managing events and activations aligned with high-end brand positioning.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets effectively.
  • Strong experience with IT tools and presentations.
  • Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel as required.
