Key Accounts Manager
Job description
Our client, market leader in the foodservices industry is looking to hire a technically minded Key Accounts Manager, based in the Sandton area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the brands.
- Drive the growth and retention of existing customer accounts.
- Generate leads through referrals and industry networking.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver on-site training to customers, with ongoing follow-ups and refresher sessions as needed.
- Ensure customers always maintain adequate stock levels.
- Provide management with detailed progress reports on a weekly basis.
- Schedule and conduct regular visits to existing customers, both within South Africa and internationally.
- Identify and address customer concerns, ensuring timely resolution of any service issues.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote and enhance brand visibility.
- Communicate regularly with the procurement team on strategic business initiatives.
- Allocate approximately 70% of time visiting end users and 30% engaging with dealers.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) plus a relevant degree or tertiary qualification is essential.
- The ideal candidate will come from a Chef / Technical Sales background.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role with minimum 3 years of strategic leadership exposure.
- Experience in Brand Building is highly desirable.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Report writing and analysis of current sales to identify opportunities.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
PLEASE NOTE: Suitable candidate must have their own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel regularly.
