Job description

Our client, market leader in the foodservices industry is looking to hire a technically minded Key Accounts Manager, based in the Sandton area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the brands.
  • Drive the growth and retention of existing customer accounts.
  • Generate leads through referrals and industry networking.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver on-site training to customers, with ongoing follow-ups and refresher sessions as needed.
  • Ensure customers always maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Provide management with detailed progress reports on a weekly basis.
  • Schedule and conduct regular visits to existing customers, both within South Africa and internationally.
  • Identify and address customer concerns, ensuring timely resolution of any service issues.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote and enhance brand visibility.
  • Communicate regularly with the procurement team on strategic business initiatives.
  • Allocate approximately 70% of time visiting end users and 30% engaging with dealers.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Grade 12 (or equivalent) plus a relevant degree or tertiary qualification is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will come from a Chef / Technical Sales background.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role with minimum 3 years of strategic leadership exposure.
  • Experience in Brand Building is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Report writing and analysis of current sales to identify opportunities.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.

PLEASE NOTE: Suitable candidate must have their own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel regularly.
