Job description

The Junior Project Manager is an entry point for project management personnel at Global Riser. The position encompasses a fast-track program of knowledge and performance with regards to Offshore Drilling Riser and associated well control equipment as well as Global Riser’s systems and processes. The employee will be supervised by Project Managers, Project Engineers, Management and Consultants. He/she will be an enthusiastic, efficient, committed individual, with strong organizational skills, who can think practically and innovatively, with an ability to work independently or as part of a team. He/she will also be expected to work unsupervised and will be expected to supervise other GR personnel.

Responsibilities

  1. Complete training as required;
  2. Shadow Project Managers, Project Engineers, Field Service and Subsea Engineers in order to gain a fundamental understanding of the operation, inspection and repair of Capital Drilling Equipment;
  3. Physically participate in carrying out various processes in order to gain a fundamental understanding of how these are performed.
  4. Manage projects from inception through to delivery; ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures; initially with assistance of management but ultimately unaided. This will include, but will not be limited to: quotation, project execution, procurement, logistics, resource planning, scheduling, reporting, inspection report review, databook generation and submission, oversight, manufacture, quality control and project closeout;
  5. Responsible for Project Quoting phase. This will include, but will not be limited to:
    1. Management will pass on an RFQ, then:
    2. Conduct Project Design and Development
      1. Gather all info on the scope as inputs
      2. Identify other inputs, not supplied by the customer
      3. Generate outputs
      4. Input vs output gap analysis
      5. Management review
    3. Cost project using company process/templates/software
    4. Draft quote and issue management for approval.
  6. Responsible for Project Execution phase. This will include, but will not be limited to:
    1. Management will advise when PO is received for a project, then:
    2. Review costing and verify no increases or issues
    3. Request PO's for any third parties
    4. Schedule and coordinate third parties and any of their shipping requirements
    5. Identify any specialist tooling requirements and have these engineered / manufactured / procured
    6. Meet with Operations Manager and select project team
    7. Direct Travel Co-Ordinator on requirements for flights, accommodation, and welfare
    8. Budget per diems and advise Finance Manager
    9. Draft equipment packing list with Operations Management review
    10. Coordinate with stores for equipment and consumables requirements
    11. Coordinate with stores for packing
    12. Provide draft CIPL to Logistics
    13. Generate project and QCP using company process/templates/software
    14. Conduct pre deployment meeting with entire team
    15. Deploy to project (if/when required) and execute the scope
    16. Direct tasks to technicians using company process/templates/software
    17. Report daily (or as per requirement) on progress and update project cost daily
    18. Identify any non-conformances and report to Quality Department
    19. Handle any technical queries
    20. Manage technicians and third parties
    21. Close out meeting with customer on conclusion of scope
    22. Process completion notes / delivery notes and time sheets
    23. Process of Customer Satisfaction note
  7. Responsible for Project Completion and Closeout. This will include, but will not be limited to:
    1. Assist finance department with invoicing
    2. Conduct After Action Review
    3. Assist to close out any NC's
    4. Ensure all documentation packs are provided to the customer within the agreed time frame
  8. Report effectively to management and Customers.
  9. Always ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Relevant technical qualification.
  2. No experience required, as this is a Junior Position. Vacation or experiential training relevant to the field, would be advantageous.
  3. An advanced knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  4. Excellent written communicator (email; technical report writing; WhatsApp).
  5. Excellent level of English, both written and verbal
  6. Organizational skills.
  7. Time Management.

Must have

Heavy Engineering, Oil and Gas or Marine experience.
