This position reports to the Senior Marketing Manager for Food & Retail of Mr D.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in conceptualising, implementing and management of ongoing promotional marketing campaigns to drive food orders on the Mr D platform.
  • Assist with the update and maintenance of the Mr D Demand Planner and promotional calendar for Food vertical initiatives - weekly deals and monthly promo campaigns.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of each consumer target market group to assist in co-crafting meaningful promotional strategies.
  • Work closely with the merchandising team to improve customer conversion within the Mr D app.
  • Manage the tertiary revenue bookings, studio bookings and CRM execution for marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Food Merchandising & KAMs team to develop, coordinate and implement relevant campaigns and promos that are aligned with the overall promo calendar and relevant business objectives.
  • Drive new feature launches and create sustained always-on educational content on product features and differentiators.
  • Brief studio and agencies and manage the coordination of various campaigns.
  • Oversee and manage the daily tracking of the coupon budget allocated for marketing activities.
  • Plan and coordinate the coupon budget for the upcoming month to align with marketing strategies and objectives.
  • Engage with the brand, content and social team on collaboration through the line Food and Mr D brand campaigns.
  • Engage with the social media team on monthly content planning and preparation, as well as paid influencer partnerships.
  • Work with internal specialist teams on creating and implementing performance media and CRM strategies to grow the orders and FTBs Mr D.
  • Collaborate with Takealot Group marketing representatives for Food specific campaigns and cross-sell to access new shoppers from their customer bases.
  • Monthly, weekly and daily reporting of campaign and promo performance.

Skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • A hands-on project manager with high attention to detail.
  • A highly driven individual motivated to drive meaningful sales revenue for the business through retail marketing initiatives including promotions, product launches and co-marketing opportunities with brands and third parties.
  • A strong relationship builder who can unlock opportunities with brands and third parties.
  • Ability to identify key advertising opportunities and translate these into implementable plans.
  • Motivated and capable of focusing on and hitting aggressive growth targets.
  • In-depth understanding of advertising sales and tools.
  • Skilled in managing high-value accounts and relationships at an executive level.
  • Strong prioritization skills.
  • Fast learner with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and high-paced environment.
  • Systems thinker with the ability to understand and break down complex problems and relationships.
  • Creative and practical problem-solving skills; solution-oriented.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and achieve a wide set of goals and objectives in a challenging and changing environment.
  • Resilience and perseverance to overcome challenges to achieve objectives.
  • A high level of integrity and respect.

Qualifications and experience:

  • A candidate with a proven track record of success in their academic achievements and career.
  • A 3+ year degree in business, marketing or communications.
  • A minimum of 3 to 4 years retail and marketing experience.
  • Experience working across marketing channels – Digital, ATL, Partnerships – with demonstrable results would be beneficial.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects.
  • Experience in an e-commerce environment is beneficial.
