Job Summary

Opportunity to join the Namibia Representative Office team. The Junior Banker will work with the Chief Representative Officer (“CRO”) to deepen the wallet share of existing customer relationships as well as developing new customer relationships with a view of driving revenue and market share growth. This will be achieved by ensuring customers have access to the full suite of Absa’s products in addition to delivering world-class customer service while maintaining a robust control environment.

This role is suited to a Namibian Citizen with a degree in Banking, Finance, or Economics or equivalent coupled with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Junior Banker in a Business Banking / Corporate and Investment Banking environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player who can demonstrate a valuable contribution across a virtual team. A proven ability to instigate changes in customer operating habits influencing the way they work to achieve mutual benefit as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment is essential.

Job Description

  • Support the CRO in maintaining, growing and sustaining quality relationships with existing and new CIB Customers.
  • Drive revenue growth by increasing customer’s uptake and usage of the various Absa’s products i.e. Debt, IBD Global Markets Products offering.
  • Support the CRO on Sales and Origination of Business Development Opportunities across all Banking products.
  • Provide input in the preparation of Credit applications of customers and in the overall monitoring and control of the quality of portfolio of borrowing customers.
  • The Job holder will provide support to the CRO in ensuring that all aspects of the control framework are adhered to.
  • Responsible for the Administrative aspects of Corporate Relationships, including support to new clients with account Opening, KYC details or other documentary requirements.
  • Support CRO and the CIB team with Customer Research, Sales Research to ensure that the Bank is abreast with Customers changing needs by using Market and Industry intelligence.
  • The jobholder will be the point of contact for all Customer Service issues including timely query resolution to support Relationship Management.
  • Must be able to stand in for the CRO when he is not available.

Education

Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
