Junior Agricultural Economist

TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Junior Agricultural Economist within the Trade division at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Job Purpose

The Agricultural Economist will be responsible for driving operational capacity expansion in organised agriculture within the Mpumalanga region.

Responsibilities And Duties

1. Process, analyse and model agricultural data to support decision-making
2. Manage administrative tasks and communicate economic insights effectively
3. Collaborate with a wide range of organisations, including government entities, NGOs, agricultural businesses, private sector stakeholders and members, to convey information and perspectives
4. Ensure the accuracy and quality of agricultural data
5. Provide professional and administrative contributions to TWK Agri’s operations
6. Collect on-site data from farmers to inform analysis and recommendations
7. Work independently and proactively to solve challenges within the agricultural environment

1. Tertiary qualification in Agricultural Economics
2. 1 year experience in the agricultural sector
3. Understanding of farming practices and various agricultural aspects
4. Proficient in MS Office Suite
5. Bilingual (Afrikaans and English)
6. Ability to work under pressure
7. Ability to operate in an advisory capacity
8. Ability to present complex data in a simple and clear format
