Junior Accountant (JB)

Bryanston, Gauteng

R25 to R35 (Dependent on experience and qualifications)

A well-established marketing organisation is looking for a professional and dedicated Junior Accountant to join their finance team based in Johannesburg.

This full-time role is ideal for a candidate with a BCom in Accounting and 1–3 years of experience, who may be currently completing or have completed SAIPA / SAICA / CIMA articles.

The position offers exposure to core accounting functions, audit preparation, budgeting, and senior management support, with flexibility required during critical periods such as board meetings and month-end.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance (essential)
  2. Completed or in-progress articles (SAIPA / SAICA / CIMA) advantageous
  3. 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience
  4. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, SAP, Xero)
  5. Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Capture financial data and maintain accurate records
  2. Bring books to trial balance and perform balance sheet reconciliations
  3. Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
  4. Assist with budget and forecasting processes
  5. Support internal and external audit requirements
  6. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
  7. Prepare and compile board packs and presentations for senior management
  8. Liaise with banks, auditors, and internal stakeholders
  9. Provide assistance during board meetings, month-end closing, and financial reviews
