Our client, a well-established company in the security sector based in Brakpan, is looking for a Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their finance team.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in accounting to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Focus Areas

In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

Responsibilities include:

1. Capturing and reconciling day-to-day financial transactions
2. Processing accounts payable and receivable
3. Performing timely and accurate bank reconciliations
4. Recording payroll entries and assisting with staff reimbursements
5. Maintaining the general ledger
6. Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
7. Assisting with budget and forecast preparation
8. Participating in tax compliance and audit preparation
9. Organising and maintaining financial documents and filing systems
10. Ensuring adherence to company financial procedures
11. Collaborating with other departments to collect and verify financial data
12. Reporting any discrepancies to the Finance Manager or Senior Accountant

What You'll Need to Succeed

We're looking for someone with:

1. A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (essential)
2. 1–2 years of experience in a bookkeeping or junior accounting role (essential)
3. Hands-on experience with accounting software and financial systems
4. Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
5. The ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
6. A team-player attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
