ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client specialises in Annual Reporting, offering exceptional services in the production of Annual and Interim Financial Reports for companies listed on the stock exchange. They have a strong market presence and are highly regarded for their high-quality work. This role is based in Fourways, South Africa.

JOB SUMMARY
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Accountant, this role focuses on financial transaction processing, reconciliations, reporting, and administration across the company. Key responsibilities include managing debtors and creditors, bookkeeping, banking, and office support.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for the vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:

  • Grade 12 certificate with Accounting and 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, OR BCom degree with an accounting major (commercial experience is advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (moderate level).
  • Experience with Evolution and Chase or similar accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Own reliable transport and willingness to travel if needed.
  • Availability to work after hours when required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Financial Transaction Processing & Bookkeeping:
    • Record and post day-to-day financial transactions.
    • Maintain accounting ledgers and ensure accurate financial data entry.
    • Reconcile bank statements, creditors, debtors, and cost allocations.
    • Prepare monthly accruals, prepayments, and trial balances.
  • Debtor & Creditor Management:
    • Follow up on debtors' enquiries, payments, and reconciliations.
    • Prepare and distribute debtors' statements and reports.
    • Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and contracts.
    • Perform supplier reconciliations and resolve disputes.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    • Assist in month-end and year-end closures.
    • Ensure all transactions comply with finance policies and governance.
    • Generate financial reports and statements for management.
  • Banking & Payments:
    • Process and reconcile all banking transactions.
    • Load batch payments for review and approval.
    • Maintain beneficiary records and ensure payment accuracy.
  • Administrative & Office Support:
    • Manage financial documentation and filing systems.
    • Provide administrative support related to company finances and facilities.
    • Monitor and manage office equipment, security, and workflow processes.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Assist with internal audits and financial reviews.
    • Support the Accountant and management with ad hoc financial tasks.
    • Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately within deadlines.
