Responsible for ensuring that the trial balance for GOCM division is accurate and complete. This is done by:
Posting the relevant month end Journals
Making sure the correct intercompany contracts at the correct prices and tonnages are used.
Ensuring that Safex, the hedges and the forex is correctly allocated.
Analysis of the GOCM income statement
Preparation of the GOCM balance sheet recons
Review of all GOCM creditors
Review of all the Nasrec site stock count, procedures, stock gain loss analysis and stock reporting.
1. Management Acc journals and B/Sheet recons:
Ensure Journals are processed accurately and completely for Salaries and Wages, Provisions and Accruals, Intercompany receivables, Balancing of intercompany loans, Updating and maintaining the FAR, Valuation of stock, Pre-paid expenses and taxation Journals
Managing and updating FAR for GOCM and providing support for the ASO Nasrec asset purchases to the ASO division financial Accountant
2. Review of Stock procedures and Stock gain loss analysis:
Ensure the stock procedures including the stock count are designed and implemented correctly. Review the stock gain loss analysis to ensure that stock is kept under control and there are no large unexplained variances.
3. Creditors paperwork and recon review:
Review of paperwork for accuracy, completeness and supporting documents before sent to H/O for recon preparation.
Review of creditors recons against documentation (Recon, PO’s, Invoices, statements, proper authorizations/sign off, bank details, etc) for all daily and monthly recons.
Manage creditor documentation/payments request from the Nasrec site.
Ensure Nasrec site creditor queries are managed effectively with the Creditors Team
4. Stock Count Attendance:
Attend monthly stock take, count stock and analyze variances.
Ensure necessary preparation such as pre-counts, sorting of stock, completeness checks and printing out count sheets is done beforehand.
Oversee stock count process in line with audit procedures.
5. Ad hoc:
FNB/External/Internal audit request
Assisting with posting creditors and debtors journals and other ad hoc tasks required by management.
