We currently have several permanent roles available at our offices in Sandton working for incredible international companies. We are on the hunt for a dedicated Junior Accountant to join our client's rapidly expanding international practice.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience and proficiency in QuickBooks Online, preferably with a graduate-level understanding of a practice environment.

This role involves assisting in the preparation of client accounts, VAT returns, personal and corporation tax returns, bank reconciliations, and month-end accounts.

You'll also manage client information, support client management through internal CRM software, and handle various tasks as needed. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and efficiency in meeting deadlines are essential. Additionally, you'll contribute to creating an onboarding process for new hires.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations and client management of our client's rapidly growing practice.

You will be responsible for preparing and filing various tax returns, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring the smooth operation of our internal systems.

Your meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills will be key in managing client accounts and supporting month-end procedures.

  1. Assisting in the preparation of client accounts: Collaborate with the accounting team to compile and review client financial statements and reports.
  2. Preparation and filing of VAT returns: Accurately prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines.
  3. Preparation and filing of Personal Tax Returns: Ensure timely and precise preparation and filing of personal tax returns for clients.
  4. Preparation and filing of Corporation Tax Returns: Handle the preparation and submission of corporation tax returns, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
  5. Preparation of Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial records.
  6. Assisting in the preparation of month-end accounts: Support the month-end closing process, including account reconciliation and financial reporting.
  7. Creating and updating client information: Maintain and update client data within our systems to ensure records are current and accurate.
  8. Assisting in client management from internal CRM Software: Utilize our CRM software to manage client interactions, track progress, and ensure excellent client service.
  9. Other relevant tasks deemed necessary from time to time: Perform additional duties as required to support the overall operations and objectives of the practice.

You're likely a great fit if you have:

  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within a practice environment.
  2. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and strong familiarity with accounting software.
  3. A graduate-level education in accounting or a related field.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction with clients and team members.
  5. A proactive and hands-on approach, with a willingness to tackle various tasks as needed.
  6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all responsibilities.
  7. The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  8. A collaborative and team-oriented mindset, contributing positively to the practice's growth and success.
