About You

You might look all calm and collected, but let's be honest – you're a detail dynamo with organizational skills that could rival a wedding planner. You're a treasure hunter for the best deals, a relentless negotiator, and a strategic thinker who sees every angle. You're comfortable with data and sales stats and can turn them into action plans that grow supplier relationships and boost profitability. You get consumers and the buying process inside out, and your goal is to elevate our partnerships while making sure our products are irresistible, timely, and top-quality.


Responsibilities:

Supplier & Profit Growth

  • Develop and nurture strong, long-term partnerships with suppliers.
  • Serve as the go-to contact for suppliers’ concerns and needs.
  • Conduct regular meetings with suppliers to discuss account growth and identify new opportunities.
  • Negotiate price points, timelines, and order quantities.
  • Recognise new sales opportunities, upselling and cross-selling to drive growth.

Product Listing & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure accurate and attractive product listings with compelling descriptions.
  • Work closely with suppliers to track and monitor product growth.
  • Collect and organize product information and load deals efficiently.
  • Test products and inspect samples to meet quality requirements and minimize returns.
  • Verify deals meet company standards and resonate with customer expectations.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Strategically plan product placement to maximise profitability.
  • Coordinate with the team to adjust deals for optimal sales performance.

Communication & Team Collaboration

  • Effectively communicate with multiple departments to streamline processes and resolve any supplier or internal issues.
  • Act as a role model in meetings, taking ownership for team and individual successes or challenges.
  • Encourage a positive company culture and collaborate with assistants, junior account managers, and key account managers.

Time & Deadline Management

  • Manage daily deadlines, ensuring all team members meet their targets.
  • Oversee documentation and meeting preparations to maintain reliable account management.
  • Stay on top of deal prioritisation and take accountability for errors while driving growth.

Stress Management & Resilience

  • Stay calm under pressure, tackling difficult conversations and setbacks with confidence.
  • Maintain a motivated and adaptable approach in the face of rejections or team challenges.

Supplier Development & Market Research

  • Continuously look for ways to expand the business with new suppliers, clients, and territories.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor products, and supplier positioning to maintain a leading edge.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Review and report office operations and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Use analytical skills to evaluate data and inform business decisions.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • BSc / BCom degree (relevant field preferred)
  • 2+ years in sales or account management
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Advanced computer and software proficiency
  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong prioritising, organisational, and time-management abilities
  • Leadership and team management experience (advantageous)
  • Experience in e-commerce systems and structures
  • High attention to detail and goal-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Resilience under pressure and stress management
  • Bilingual (English and Afrikaans)
