Position: IT Engineer (Contract Position)

Location: Cape Town

Contract Term: 6 Months

Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure, supporting technical escalations (Levels 2–4), and driving system optimisation through training and the application of emerging technologies. This role plays a key part in ensuring systems stability and workforce enablement.

Core Duties Include

• Supporting IT operations across hardware, networks, servers, cloud, and security systems
• Managing Office 365, Exchange Hybrid, Azure, and Active Directory
• Virtual server deployment using Hyper-Converged Clusters
• Backup, disaster recovery, Mimecast reporting, and troubleshooting
• Handling SD-WAN, firewalls, MPLS, and Wi-Fi issues
• CRM coordination and SharePoint permissions
• Conducting internal IT training and reporting to ICT Manager

Requirements

• A relevant IT Degree / Diploma
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant IT engineering role
• Microsoft Certifications: MCSA, MCSE, or MCITP essential
• Strong enterprise-level infrastructure experience
• Knowledge of South African IT laws, cybersecurity frameworks, ITIL
• Able to work extended/irregular hours when needed for implementation rollouts
• Excellent technical problem-solving and communication skills
