It Engineer – Linux Infrastructure

Max Salary: R1,, per annum

What We're Looking For:

1. At least 8 years of experience working with Linux technologies (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL, Debian)
2. 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MSSQL
3. Expertise in virtualization and containers (VMware, KVM, Proxmox, Docker)
4. Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, Perl)
5. Solid knowledge of security tools and best practices (firewalls, SSH, SELinux, vulnerability scanning)
6. Experience with monitoring and performance tuning (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Ops Manager)
7. Good understanding of networking protocols and troubleshooting tools
8. Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
9. Strong background in backup and disaster recovery solutions

Preferred Skills:

1. Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
2. CI / CD and DevOps knowledge
3. Firewall and storage expertise
4. Kubernetes and Docker experience

1. Maintaining and optimizing Linux infrastructure for maximum performance
2. Automating repetitive tasks through scripting
3. Monitoring and troubleshooting system issues to prevent downtime
4. Implementing security best practices to safeguard infrastructure
5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deploy systems
6. Managing backup and disaster recovery processes
7. Ensuring infrastructure scalability and high availability
8. Handling incident and change management to drive continuous improvement
