Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Onsite User Support
  2. Microsoft Windows & Office Application Support and Installation
  3. Windows Server Management & Administration
  4. Microsoft Office 2nd Line Support & Administration
  5. Escalation of issues to 2nd Line Support
  6. Documentation and Updating of Ticketing / Helpdesk System
  7. Train end users on usage of computer hardware and software
  8. Install, configure and support Windows and Mac workstations
  9. Maintain current and accurate inventory of hardware, software and resources
  10. Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements
  11. Perform long-term fault, configuration, performance and security management of Desktop systems
  12. Install, configure, and support end-user IT hardware and software within acceptable response times
  13. Introduce new IT capabilities by proposing viable solutions for improvement
  14. Continuous improvement - Reviews key processes to identify gaps between customer requirements and current outputs.
  15. Monitoring - Determines which systems, processes, or areas need to be monitored; identifies what information needs to be obtained.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  1. Technical Skills
    1. CompTIA A+
    2. CompTIA Network +
    3. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (or working towards it)
    4. Previous experience with Microsoft Office
    5. Proficient with Microsoft Windows 8.1 / Windows 10
    6. Windows Server Administration - Active Directory, Data Security, Group Policies etc.
    7. Installation and troubleshooting of Applications
    8. Proficient at Printer installation and configuration
    9. Wireless & Network Infrastructure support and configuration
    10. Previous experience in Firewalls and an understanding of switching, routing and VLANs
  2. Soft Skills
    1. Excellent Client Facing, Written & Verbal Communication
    2. Self-Management & Self-Motivated - a "Go Getter"
    3. Strong Documentation Skills and Information Gathering
    4. Excellent communication skills, both in front of the client and via telephone
    5. Creative problem solving ability
    6. Proven ability to troubleshoot under pressure
    7. "Can Do" attitude
    8. A distinct hunger to grow as an individual

You will be energetic, diligent, a problem solver and have good interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Matric
  2. MCSE would be advantageous
  3. Minimum 3 years' experience with IT desktop support and Server support knowledge
  4. The successful candidate should be able to operate at a corporate level and translate business requirements into technical solutions
