Inventory Manager Pinetown

Our client, a sourcing and supply specialist of bolts, padlocks, hinges, etc., based in New Germany, Durban, is currently looking for an Inventory Manager.

The ideal candidate must be an experienced and passionate individual who pays attention to detail.

Duties & Responsibilities

Position: Inventory Manager

Location: New Germany, KZN

Reports To: Operations Manager

Minimum Qualifications

1. Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, or any other relevant qualification
2. 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
3. 3-5 years Warehouse experience
4. Knowledge within the Building Hardware or Retail sector would be advantageous
5. Knowledge of IQ Retail System would be advantageous

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Supervise and coordinate staff on daily operations
2. Run daily cycle counts and investigate variances in line with the company's objectives
3. Ensure stock is stored according to the correct bin locations at all times
4. Ensure stock is labelled correctly
5. Oversee stock received by suppliers, including receiving, verifying, and storage of goods
6. Ensure accurate and timely receipt, storage, and picking of inventory levels
7. Plan and execute quarterly stock takes to ensure accuracy at all times
8. Ensure the right documentation is endorsed for any discrepancies
9. Manage all transfers between companies correctly - physical and system stock transfers
10. Conduct on-site customer audits
11. Continuous improvement; enhancing internal procedures and controls
12. Identify discounted stock and implement waste control mechanisms
13. Ensure proper housekeeping is maintained
14. Manage LIFO / FIFO system
15. Respond to and resolve stock queries from management
16. Involvement in all new rollouts
17. Ensure stock availability to meet customer requirements
18. Report all stock discrepancies to management
19. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels
20. Manage, motivate, train, and continually develop the inventory team
21. Optimize layout and storage methods to maximize space utilization and efficiency
