Job Description
As an Intermediate Data Engineer, part of the RPP platform team, this role supports, maintains and develops databases and their applications to support the systems, Testing, QA and Production environments. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts. Responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of complex database environments operating in AWS.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED FOR THE JOB)
Designs, builds, and maintains the infrastructure that supports data storage, processing, and retrieval. Works with large data sets and develops data pipelines that move data from source systems to data warehouses and other data storage and processing systems.
Oversee data collection mechanisms and how they fit into data architecture, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality and accuracy.
Manage basic aspects of the data management system with guidance from senior colleagues.
Collect business requirements using a variety of methods to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
Install and test complex databases and associated products to ensure they are suitable for use and meet customer requirements.
Design and select medium-complexity storage, data center, network, and client/server environments.
Implement required security measures, such as firewalls or message encryption.
Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard.
Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/applications software.
Support and contribute to the documentation of "as is" and "to be" processes.
Identify instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures.
Develop existing data applications and contribute to the development of new applications.
Monitor, identify, and correct software defects to maintain fully functioning applications software.
Contribute to and maintain road map to facilitate data software development.
Produce multiple concepts and prototypes to design digital products/services.
