My client is looking to expand their Instrument Department of 8 technicians to accommodate the steady growth of the company. They are relaxed, friendly, and professional with a great attitude towards personal training and growth.
The Role:
Install, commission, and maintain various types of instruments and control systems.
Troubleshoot breakdowns across various customer sites and industries.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and loop sheets.
Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to ensure proper functioning of instrumentation, control panels, and complete control systems.
Test instruments for accuracy and reliability.
Document activities and keep accurate digital records for both customer and in-house projects.
Assist other departments in design elements of projects, specification of new instrumentation, installation, setup, and commissioning both in-house and at customer sites.
Your role as an Instrument Technician would mainly be based around the Cheshire area and North West. There may be occasional work away within the UK, but not for long periods. You would be welcomed into the existing Technician team with a view to becoming an important member of the company striving to achieve excellent customer service and carry out all work to the highest standards.
They cover a wide array of industries from Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage, Petro-Chemical, Utilities, Car Industry, and Aerospace.
The work they carry out is both interesting and challenging, which is why they need team members to be both proactive and supportive to the entire team to enable solutions to be found.
They offer a Flexitime system which allows overtime hours to be either taken as pay or additional time off.
They offer 0.5 day additional holiday for every year served.
Overtime is plentiful but not mandatory.
Training is provided where required and also for personal and company growth. Apprentices are a rich vein of the company’s background, so they wholeheartedly support their growth and experience which they expect any new team members to embrace as part of their company culture.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose instrument/control issues.
Customer service-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
ATEX qualifications would be preferable but not essential. Training can be provided.
Own transport is essential to enable travel to customer sites. All business mileage is generously reimbursed.
Computer literacy would be required, although only at a basic level (Word, Excel, etc.).
